Winter Haven Municipal Airport (KGIF) is located in the central portion of Polk County . Close to the geographical center of the state, nearly equal distance from the east and west coast and half way between the Georgia-Florida border and the southern tip of the peninsula, Polk is located within the Interstate-4 corridor approximately 25 statute miles east of Tampa and 35 statute miles southwest of Orlando .  The airport is comprised of approximately 450 acres of land.

Winter Haven Municipal Airport is owned and operated by the City of Winter Haven and provides a full-range of corporate/business and general aviation services to the surrounding community. The Airport's mission is to serve the City of Winter Haven and the surrounding area with full aviation services by attracting corporate, business and recreational flight activities. GIF strives to fulfill this mission by maintaining current facilities, offering a full range of aviation services and providing economic benefits for the surrounding community. In its immediate vicinity, the airport serves approximately 85,000 people residing in Winter Haven, Auburndale, Lake Alfred and Haines City. Aviation services include flight training, aircraft fueling, maintenance, rental, sales and courtesy vehicle.

Celebrate Mother's Day at Pappy's Grill

Pappy's Grill, at the Winter Haven Municipal Airport, will be open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mother's Day, May 13. Treat Mom to a great breakfast or lunch. Come out to Pappy's.

 

Aviation Art Exhibition

The City of Winter Haven and Ridge Art are partnering to sponsor another aviation-themed art exhibition at the Winter Haven Municipal Airport. The exhibition will be a juried competition. All artwork must be submitted May 18-19, at the Airport terminal. Artwork chosen for the exhibit will be displayed at the Airport through May 1, 2013, during normal terminal hours. Available for Lease:

Executive/corporate hangars - various sizes and lease rates;
 
T-Hangars - $291 per month, $75 per week, $15 per day, plus tax;
 
Tie-down spaces - North or South apron: Daily - free, $5 overnight, $10 weekly, $40 monthly, plus applicable taxes;
 
237 square foot retail area in the new Terminal Building on U.S. Highway 92 West, includes all utilities; and
 
Office space in multiple office building at $200, plus tax, per office per month, including all utilities.
